Here’s why it didn’t get 5 stars:
I’d like to tighten the pieces holding the ball joints to prevent movement. The mount will move when on dirt roads with the phone attached.
Applying the plate to below MagSafe spot does work. Makes the phone top heavy and phone will rotate on anything but smooth roads.
I also have an Oh Snap MagSafe charger and the magnet from that to the car mount is insanely strong. You have to scoot it off vs pull it off. Phone attaches at MagSafe point with adequate hold.
Car mount could definitely design a competitive product to be compatible with the minimal mount (with how phones are developing it, you should t have to sacrifice wireless charging by placing the plate centered. But using these 2 products works well for me when I need it to charge.
The phone stays in place even in bumpy driving situations. The adhesive stays too even in hot days. The simple design is perfect for me, I don't like bulky and outrageous design that blocks the view of the windshield.
